Feed to Ideal Body Condition
Underfed: Ribs are highly visible. Increase the amount you are feeding. After two to three weeks, compare again. Adjust until cat exhibits ideal body condition.
Ideal: Can feel and see outline of ribs. Cat has a waist when viewed from above. Belly tucked up when viewed from the side. Maintain current feeding regimen.
Overfed: Cat has no waist when viewed from above. Belly is rounded when viewed from the side. Decrease the amount you are feeding. After two to three weeks, compare again. Adjust as necessary.
Recommended Daily Feeding Amounts*
small cat (5 - 9 lbs.): 1/3 - 1/2 cup
large cat (10 - 14 lbs.): 2/3 - 1 cup

- Feeding for Adult Maintenance
It is important that you feed Purina ONE to your adult cat "free choice" throughout the day, rather than as just a single feeding only at mealtime. Food intake required to maintain ideal body condition will vary, depending on age, activity, and environment. Watch your cat's weight and adjust food amounts accordingly.
