PETCO Automatic Cat Water Fountain Cleaning Brush Tool
To ensure proper operation of your PETCO Automatic Pet Fountain, sold separately, regular cleaning is recommended. Our Cleaning Brush Tool features two brushes in one! The large end for cleaning the top bowl and large surfaces and a "hidden" mini brush for small, hard to reach surfaces.
Regular cleaning should take place every one to two weeks.
Always unplug the fountain before cleaning. Please refer to your product manual for complete disassembly and reassembly instructions.Fountain: Disassemble and clean the fountain approximately every one to two weeks.
Use the following steps:
Unplug the fountain.
- Remove the top bowl and clean large surfaces with the large end of cleaning brush.
- Remove the fountain tube insert and using the small end of the cleaning brush clean the hole on the top bowl where the tube insert is.
Motor:
Gently lift the pump out of the lower bowl. Suction cups on the bottom of the pump will hold it in place so you may need to use a small amount of force.Once the pump is out of the fountain, with your thumb and forefinger, gently squeeze on either side of the cover plate, and pull off. Next you will need to remove the stator.Once the stator is removed you can also remove the impeller which is held in place magnetically. To remove the impeller, use a fingernail to get under it and lift out.Once the pump is disassembled, you can clean the parts with warm soapy water. Use the small end of the cleaning tool to get into the pump cavity and remove any build-up.Rinse the parts well.
Once the parts are clean you can reassemble the pump for use.
