Classy Custom Pet Portals can be installed in any door from 2" thick, down to 1/16" thick. If you choose to install your Pet Door in a wall, make sure you have a professional help you. Walls have electrical wires, water pipes and support structures that require special handling as well as increased framing for walls that are thicker than 2".
A simple way to begin your pet's training, is to put your pet on one side of the new Pet Portal and place yourself on the other side of the door. Raise the flap, and holding a treat in your hand, coax your pet through the portal. If he is hesitant, tape the flap up for a day or two when you are permitting your pet to go out.
