Kordon AlgaeQuel Freshwater Algae Control - From PETCO.com
Kordon AlgaeQuel is a liquid chemical algae control for freshwater aquarium, fountain, and small pond use. It is an effective EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) approved algaecide registered in the States of the U.S.A., for use in all types of freshwater aquariums, fountains, and small ponds for the control and elimination of algae. Among AlgaeQuel's benefits are that it is equally effective in the range of fresh and hard waters used for freshwater fishes. It does not affect the beneficial bacteria of the biological nitrogen cycle in aquariums and ornamental ponds. AlgaeQuel is compatible with all Kordon water conditioners and all Kordon medications, and other medications on which it has been tested. Other benefits are that AlgaeQuel does not affect the pH (acidity and alkalinity) of the water, and does not permanently discolor the water.
Note: When using drops measure them with a medicine dropper that will measure in the range of 10 drops per 0.5 mL For other droppers calculate the proportionate number of drops for this measure.- For 10 gallons (37.85 liters) use 6 drops of AlgaeQuel
- For 20 gallons (76 liters) use 12 drops of AlgaeQuel
- For 30 gallons (114 liters) use 18 drops or 1/2 teaspoon or 1/2 capful of AlgaeQuel

For Aquariums, Ornamental Ponds, and Small Fountains - Add recommended dosage near the water filter outflow or where there is water circulation in order to mix the dosage into aquarium or pond water rapidly. After usage, remove dead algae from the water. Repeat dose every three days until algae is controlled. Repeat dosage once per week for maintenance in those aquariums, fountains, and ponds that have exposure to light that causes algae to form. To calculate capacity of fountain or pond: multiply in feet length x width x depth = cubic feet x 7.5 = U.S. gallons.
Caution: In aquariums, fountains and ponds with fishes ensure that water is well aerated via waterfall, water flow, or aeration to prevent fish loss from lack of oxygen. Treat only those aquariums, fountains and ponds that do not have an external outflow.
AlgaeQuel is registered with the EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) and is an approved algaecide registered in the States of the U.S.A., including California. As required by U.S. EPA regulation, AlgaeQuel is not to be released into the sewer or environment. High water temperatures cause more rapid natural decay of dead algae which can cause fish distress. If fish are present in the water while treating with AlgaeQuel, clean excess dead algae as it accumulates. It is recommended to use AlgaeQuel before the water temperature exceeds 75 degrees Fahrenheit (=24 degrees centigrade). In ponds ensure that water is well aerated via waterfall, fountain or other method to prevent fish loss. Aeration must be continuous during use of AlgaeQuel. Caution: Not safe for use with mollusks such as snails and clams, or with crustaceans such as shrimp.
Hazards to Humans and Domestic Animals. Harmful if absorbed through skin or swallowed. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after use.
