Puppies have very fast digestion. After they finish eating, it takes 5-30 minutes until they need to move their bowels. During this time, you'll want to take your puppy to the area where it should relieve itself.Designate an area for indoor house training. This area should always be available to your dog and be located away from your dog's food and bed.

- Remember dogs experience the world in this order; nose, eyes and then ears. Place your dog on or near the pad. Allow your dog to smell the pad's special scent. Often, this is all it takes for the dog to catch on.

If your pet relieves himself elsewhere, bring him back to the pad as soon as possible. Many have achieved success by placing the dog's own stool on the pad and covering it with another pad. The dog usually gets the message.
- Always discard soiled pads and use fresh pads as needed.
