Training Tips:- Ensure the training pad is always available to your puppy and away from his bed, food and water.
- Confine your puppy to a small area when you are unable to watch him and anticipate when he will need to urinate. As a general rule, your puppy will need to go when he wakes up, after he eats or drinks, after playing and before going to sleep.
- Pay attention to your puppy's behavior and signs that he needs to go. Common signs include sniffing, circling and squatting. When you first notice these signs, immediately take your puppy to the training pad and allow him to relieve himself. Praise him enthusiastically whenever he goes on the pad.
- Accidents may happen during the housetraining process. Expect and be prepared by removing all traces of resulting odor, as they will stimulate your puppy to relieve himself in the same spot. To completely remove remaining odors, we recommend a natural bacteria and enzyme stain and odor remover.
- Puppy housetraining takes several weeks. To ensure success, have patience and consistently follow these steps.
Unfold and place the pad on the floor with the tissue side up and the plastic side down. Place your pet on or near the pad so that he can smell the pad's scent. If your pet relieves himself somewhere else other than the pad bring him back to the pad as soon as possible. Repeat this process often to train your pet to automatically relieve himself on the pad. Discard soiled pads and use clean pads as needed.
