Firefish Goby (aka Firefish or Fire Dartfish)
With a yellow head, and a body that gradually changes from white to a blush hue or carmine red, this torpedo shaped fish is also known as a Firefish, or a Fire Dartfish. The Firefish Goby is a very timid fish that is best suited for smaller reef tanks. While they do best singly or in groups and are not aggressive fish, a tank smaller than 10 gallons is not recommended for a group of Firefish. This species should be tankmates with passive fish only, and will constantly hide if kept with extremely active fish. The Firefish is a jumper as well, so a covered tank is recommended.
Enjoys a varied diet, including but not limited to brine shrimp, daphnia, mysis shrimp, zooplankton, and carnivore-specific frozen foods.
