Yellow Tang
Tangs are also called surgeon fish due to the scalpel-like spine at the base of its tail. The territorial tang will swipe its tail at a target as a means of defense. One of the most recognized marine fish, the Yellow Tang is a radiant canary yellow and is widespread from Hawaii to Indonesia and the Great Barrier Reef. A tank with plenty of live rock and decor to provide several hiding spots and a wide area for swimming is recommended. Tangs tend to be most aggressive towards fish of similar form and color. Multiple Yellow Tangs must be introduced into a tank simultaneously, and only in larger tanks. To minimize aggression in a small aquarium it is recommended to have only one Tang.
