Formosa Wrasse - Adult
Wrasses have a greater variety of shapes, sizes, colors and habitats than most other fish groups. Sometimes confused with a blenny, most species of wrasses like to bury themselves in sand at the bottom of the tank at night. Wrasses tend to be quick and agile swimmers due to their elongated bodies. The Juvenile Formosa Wrasse looks very different from the adult. The juvenile has orange and white "tiger" stripes with thin bands of black between each stripe. As the Formosa matures, it become shades of blues and greens with a varying a pattern between the male and the female. The varying pattern makes it easy to distinguish males from females.
Feed a varied diet of flake, pelleted, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and frozen seafoods.
