Pigeon Blood Discus

Also known as Diskusfisk (Sweden), Disco azul (Peru), Grüner Diskus(Germany), or Brun Diskosfisk (Denmark).

The body of the Discus is round and laterally compressed, an unusual characteristic of the Cichlidae family which makes it suitable for gliding through tall aquarium grasses. Discus are vibrantly colored with vertical or horizontal stripes. The Pigeon Blood Discus is a vivid orange with black marbling; the fins are brown with a hint of turquoise. Needs plenty of hiding spots especially tall live plants. The Pigeon Blood Discus changes to different shades of orange and black depending on its mood and health.

Discus require special attention, needing low lighting, dark substrate, and soft water. Water conditioner or Reverse Osmosis filtration to soften the water is highly recommended.
