Jack Dempsey Cichlid

The Jack Dempsey Cichlid is primarily a dark brown to gray color with luminous blue and green markings. The Jack Dempsey is a territorial fish and therefore, it is recommended that the tank have designated areas separated by piles of rocks or groups of plants. Its aggressive behavior is thought to have contributed to the fish being named after early 20th Century Boxer, Jack Dempsey, who also had an aggressive fighting style.
This fish does best in muddy or sandy substrates. This fish should be kept with similar-sized fish as they tend to eat smaller fish.
