Your live fish may not match the image shown due to natural variations in each species. Each companion animal is different in shape, color, and personality.
The term "shark" is applied to many unrelated fish with a similar body shape. Although this species is called a Bala Shark, it is actually a type of minnow. These hardy and curious fish add personality and character to an aquarium. The Bala Shark is distinct in its appearance with a shiny silver body and yellow and black dorsal and caudal fins. This particular shark does best in groups of three or more sharks in a planted tank with driftwood and rocks. As this species is known to jump, a tight fitting lid is highly recommended. A tank with plenty of horizontal swimming space is also a must.
