Health Nutrition

Since dogs vary greatly in energy level, shape and physiological needs, their nutrition is not a one-size-fits-all approach. That’s why Royal Canin created tailor-made formulas specific to a dog’s size, lifestyle or breed.

Whether you have a baby dog, a puppy, an adult dog, a specific breed, an older dog or a dog with a specific issue like dental or skin & coat—Royal Canin has a formula designed for the needs of your dog.

MINI dogs are those that weigh up to 20 lbs. as adults. These small dogs are prone to dental plaque and tartar, and sometimes have a temperamental appetite. Even though these dogs are small, they have greater energy needs than a large dog. Royal Canin understands the needs of these small dogs and has developed formulas that address their specific needs.

MEDIUM dogs are those dogs whose adult weight is between 21 and 55 lbs. From the Beagle to the Cocker Spaniel, English Bulldog and Border Collie, this group of dogs is very active and has specific energy needs to suit their varied lifestyles. Royal Canin has developed specific formulas to keep the MEDIUM dog healthy.

MAXI dogs, including Labrador Retrievers, Boxers and Golden Retrievers, are those dogs that weigh between 56 and 100 lbs. as adults. These large dogs have issues specific to their size, including digestive sensitivities, cardiac strain and osteo-articular problems. Royal Canin provides formulas specific to the needs of the large dog.

Giant dogs (weighing over 100 lbs. as adults) are hearty eaters and sometimes gulp their food. Royal Canin has developed a formula made specifically for these dogs that encourages them to chew their food, plus provides them with specific nutrition that supports the healthy joints of these large dogs. Since giant dogs are at greater risk of cardiac disease than smaller dogs, Royal Canin also provides essential vitamins and minerals to support a healthy heart.
