To Apply for Support
If you have previously applied for and received support through our on line interface within the past year, you will need to file the requisite follow up form to applying again.
Before going into our support site to fill out the application form, please have the following information ready:
- Official name and address info for your group
- An email where you can be reached
- A name for the Project/Request you are making
- A brief description of the Project/Request
- Amount requested or estimated retail amount for products requested
- The geographic area where the funding will be applied
- The type of support you'll be requesting
- Your mission statement (can be uploaded as pdf or typed out)
- If you are a current Charitable Partner, amount of funding received previously
- If you are not currently a Charitable Partner (have never received funds from PETCO Foundation)
- Completed and signed copy of the IRS W-9 Form
- Copy of 501(c)(3) tax determination letter, Form 1023, or Government or Municipal Agency Form (blank document also available from within the Application site)
If you will be requesting a product grant, you will be asked on the Application for Support for the following information (you need to go into a Petco store), for each of the items being requested:
- Sku (a 5-7 digit number; a sales associate can help you identify this number)
- Description of the item(s)
- Quantity
- The address of the local PETCO store near you
(NOTE: Currently, we are unable to supply Aspen muzzles/ harnesses/ collars/ leashes, "Booda", Iams, or Eukanuba products through our Distribution Centers. Also, if requesting food it’s a good idea to provide information for a substitute for each item, since different brands/flavors are occasionally unavailable at the local Distribution Center, and can’t be requested at that time.)
You are now ready to apply for support from the PETCO Foundation.
Note: If you have not previously applied for support through our on line interface, you will need to set up an account, even if you are already a Charitable Partner. If you have applied through the on line interface previously, the username is the email address you used when you first set up the on line account. You must have access to the original email address used.
Please be advised that the PETCO Foundation no longer funds horse rescue or wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. The PETCO Foundation does not fund salaries of any kind.

To Apply for PETCO Foundation Charitable Partner Status
If you do not currently need financial or material support but would like to become a PETCO Foundation Charitable Partner:
- Complete the following forms
- Non Profit Form
- Completed and signed copy of the IRS W-9 Form
- a copy of your 501(c)(3)
- A cover sheet outlining your name, that you are applying for charitable partner status but not for support money at this time. Please note if this is in tandem with an application to become an Adoption Partner.
- Mail or fax these forms with the cover sheet to:

If you have previously applied for, and received, support from the PETCO Foundation, or have previously applied for and received Charitable Partner status, you do not need to apply again.

To Apply for PETCO Store Adoption Partner Status
In order to become a PETCO Adoption Partner, you must have already been approved to become a PETCO Foundation Charitable Partner. A PETCO Adoption Partner is able to hold mobile or stationary adoptions at their local PETCO Store. To become a PETCO Adoption Partner:
- Complete the following Application and Agreement
- Meet with your local PETCO store manager to express your interest, turn in the application and discuss PETCO's adoption policies outlined in the document with both of you initialing each section as it is discussed.
- Ask them to make you a copy but leave the original with the Store Manager. They will fax or mail that application to PETCO Foundation.
- They will let you know once you are approved and the regulations regarding holding events at their store. Please feel free to check in with them directly should you not hear back.
