The PETCO Foundation's mission is to raise the quality of life for pets and people who love and need them.
The PETCO Foundation dedicates its programs to serving the
Four Rs - Reduce, Rescue, Rehabilitate, Rejoice. We strive to achieve our mission by creating responsible pet owners, reducing the number of animals euthanized, rescuing animals in crisis and rehabilitating undesirable behaviors in pets to keep them in a loving home.
We encourage Applications for Support from 501(c)(3) organizations; or organizations that are in the process of filing for 501(c)(3) status and can provide a copy of their Form 1023; or government/municipal animal organizations. These organizations should share our mission and their request for funding should fulfill one or more of the Four Rs. Applications for Support from organizations that are able to enlist the support of their local PETCO store receive higher priority for consideration than those that do not have a relationship with their local store.

Apply for Support through the PETCO Foundation
If you are new to this program, you will be asked to "Create a New Account." After answering some basic questions about your organization you will create a password. This password will allow you to access this site at any time to track the progress of your request as it wends its way through the review process.
The first step is a
Letter of Inquiry. You will be asked to answer a few questions and briefly describe your request for funding. The PETCO Foundation will determine if your request is complete, compelling and falls within our guidelines. We will send you an email advising you of what is missing or if you can proceed to the actual Application for Support.
Once you submit your Application for Support, it will be reviewed by the PETCO Foundation and a decision will be made. You will be notified by email of the PETCO Foundation's decision. It is estimated that the typical review time will be up to 12 weeks but this may be adjusted up or down depending upon volume and/or availability of reviewers.
Please be advised that the PETCO Foundation no longer funds horse rescue or wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. The PETCO Foundation does not fund salaries of any kind.
