We know your pets are important, whether it’s a pink purse dog or your favorite prize-winning rooster. Pets are part of your family and are welcome as part of your family portrait. We also love to capture what’s so special about pets in their own portrait. Whether you just brought home a new kitten or want to show the special bond between your parrot and your potbelly pig, we can help. Our photographers have been trained to work with animals and capture their personality in an image suitable for framing.
Preparing for your visitDogs and cats are part of the family, too. And having photographs made with them can be great fun. It’s always a good idea to feed Fido and take him on a quick walk before your session so he’s relaxed and ready for his close up. But be open-minded: if he’s not in the mood to roll over or shake hands, a sleeping pooch often makes for great photographs.
Choosing the right doggone sweater or cat suitIf your pet wears sweaters or t-shirts, by all means, bring this attire to your session. Funny sayings on pet clothes are always a nice touch. And feel free to bring along his favorite pillow from the sofa, that chew toy that has seen better days, even the pair of socks he always manages to sneak out of the bedroom.
Adding personal touchesPet props make the picture. So bring any items from home that’ll make your furry friend feel more comfortable and add a personal touch. Maybe it’s a squeaky toy to get attention, a hat box or similar for your cat to sit in, or a picture of the kids to place near your dog’s head. And for the holidays, nothing looks better on your little elf/hound than Santa’s cap.
