Golf for a Cause

The ninth annual Petco Foundation Thanks "Fore" Giving Fall Fundraiser was held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012. The fundraiser was held at the beautiful Rancho Bernardo Inn and Country Club.

GOLF TOURNAMENT

The golf tournament spans over two championship 18-hole courses, the Rancho Bernardo Inn course and the Country Club of Rancho Bernardo course. The Rancho Bernardo Inn course has hosted both PGA and LPGA events and is a much sought after course in the San Diego area as well as all of Southern California. Adjacent to the Rancho Bernardo Inn course is the ultra exclusive Country Club of Rancho Bernardo. This course is normally only open to members but welcomed only Petco Foundation sponsors on November 7th! There were special drink and snack stations throughout the courses so our golfers never got too thirsty or hungry during the competition. The morning began with a breakfast spread, a putting contest and special boxed lunch included for all players.

CULINARY EXCELLENCE EVENT

Participants delighted in a foodie’s dream and a mixologists ultimate indulgence with this interactive gourmet lunch and mixology session with the culinary team of Rancho Bernardo Inn. They learned secrets of the experts and had a chance to put that newly acquired knowledge to the test in a competition against their dining companions. The Culinary Excellence was a great event for those that preferred to eat, drink and be merry, especially the merry part!

HOSTED RECEPTION AND DINNER

Immediately following the daytime activities there was a hosted reception with time to mingle and enter to win premium opportunity drawing prizes. The reception hosted a number of unique silent auction items. The reception led into a sumptuous three-course dinner and presentation along with awards ceremony in the magnificent Aragon Ballroom. The Thanks "Fore" Giving Fall Fundraiser is the largest event fundraiser for the Petco Foundation and is always an energetic and memorable day. We would like to thank you for helping the Foundation accomplish positive changes every day in the lives of pets and people who love and need them.
