Have you recently received a grant from the Petco Foundation? Congratulations! We're thrilled to support the incredible work you do for animals and we want to help you spread the news. You may wish to send out a news release (for media), newsletter (for your email subscribers), a Facebook post, Tweet, or other form of communication to share and celebrate the programs we help you fund - and we're here to help!
Because we can't accommodate every individual request for publicity assistance, we've created a few templates you can use to help attract traditional and social media attention for the grant you've received and the important work it will fund. We've also included a few tips for putting these materials to the best possible use.
Any communication materials you create that mention the Petco Foundation or include our logo, with or without the use of this kit, must be reviewed and approved by our Communications team before you share them publically in any way.
In any communication or media materials you create, please refer to the Petco Foundation as follows:
About Petco and the Petco Foundation
Petco is a leading pet specialty retailer that provides the products, services and advice that make it easier for our customers to be great pet parents. Everything we do is guided by our vision for Healthier Pets. Happier People. Better World. We operate more than 1,200 stores nationwide, including more than 50 Unleashed by Petco locations, a smaller format neighborhood shop, and www.petco.com. The Petco Foundation, an independent nonprofit organization, has raised more than $111 million since it was created in 1999 to promote and improve the welfare of companion animals. In conjunction with the Foundation, we work with and support more than 8,000 local animal-welfare groups across the country to help find homes for more than 250,000 animals through in-store adoption events every year.
Please ensure that you obtain approval from the Petco Foundation's Communications Team on any materials that use the Petco Foundation's name or logo. This includes: news releases, newsletter/email copy, print collateral, annual reports, advertisements and other marketing materials. Approval is not necessary for Facebook posts, Tweets or brief website copy; however, please use the guidelines provided in this kit when crafting those communications. Here's what to do:
The Petco Foundation logo is the one to use when Petco Foundation has supplied a grant for money, product or sponsorships for your event. Please ensure that the Petco Foundation, not the Petco, logo is the logo used when showcasing these sponsorships.
