The four ways we fulfill this mission are by creating responsible pet owners, reducing the number of animal euthanized, rescuing animals in crisis, and rehabilitating behavioral issues in pets.
The long term strategic vision elements for next 10 years are:
- Be instrumental in ensuring that adoptable animals are not euthanized.
- Reduce the number of animals that are returned to shelters
- Help repurpose animal shelters from being warehouses to being resources for responsible pet owners
- Partner with relief agencies to deploy resources to help companion animals in crisis during disasters
- Measurably change the national consciousness about the value and importance of pets in society
- Help address the puppy mills issue
- Partner with businesses to promote responsible pet ownership and bring pets into the workplace
- Be recognized as a leading national resource for facts and information about animal welfare issues
