Maintaining the correct pH of aquarium water is very important to ensure a healthy tropical fish. The pH value indicates whether aquarium water is acid, neutral, or alkaline. The correct pH helps promote healthy fish colors, breeding, and growth in tropical fish. The majority of freshwater fish prefer an environment with a pH reading between 6.0 and 8.0. Since many hobbyists enjoy different freshwater fish species in the same aquarium a pH level of 6.8 to 7.2 is the desired pH range. Correct pH helps to obtain this neutral pH environment by gradually buffering the aquarium water. Buffering the water also helps to lower harmful ammonia levels caused by fish wastes, overcrowding, and overfeeding. Directions: Add one tablet to each ten gallons of aquarium water. Use a pH test kit to determine the pH level. Repeat this treatment as necessary, taking care not to change the pH level more than 0.5 every 24 hours. Correct pH will maintain the proper pH level for several weeks depending on system load and water changes. If your aquarium has very hard alkaline water it may be necessary to soften the water first. Partial water changes of 25% every two weeks are recommended to maintain a healthy aquarium. Use when setting up new tanks, to stabilize the pH in established tanks and when making water changes. For freshwater aquarium use only. Safe for freshwater aquarium fish and plants. Safe to use with all Jungle products. Not for use on food fish.
