A schooling fish, the Rosy Barb prefers a longer and larger fish tank. This helps prevent any aggression. The Rosy Barb can be distinguished by its scarlet and gold coloration with black spots close to its fins. Although the male is predominantly red, the female lacks any shade of red, and is a shimmering gold instead. The Rosy Barb prefers rocks and driftwood, while having horizontal space to swim back and forth in a tank. In smaller than recommended tanks, the Rosy Barb tends to be a bit nippy towards other fish. Does best in groups of three or more.
