  1. Whisper-Quiet Hunter Fan draws air into the unit without the noise associated with many competitive models.
  2. Advanced Activated Carbon Pre-Filter reduces cooking, tobacco, and pet odors at least 30% better than competitive models. Also captures large dust particles, lint, and pet hair from dirty air.
  3. Permanently charged HEPAtech Electret Filter effectively captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.1 micron in size that pass through the filter.
  4. Ionizer distributes negative ions throughout the room to enhance the cleaning process while freshening the air.
  5. Effective Airflow Design exhausts clean, purified air back into the room from the top of the unit to avoid stirring up settled particles.
Frequently Asked Questions
  1. How do I select the right size air purifier for my needs?
CADR ratings should be used when selecting your air purifier. These are scores from independent laboratory testing which simulates real world conditions. The higher the score, the better the unit cleans a room.
  2. How is performance or effectiveness rated on air purifiers?
The Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) score gives the consumer the best indication of performance. The real world testing which leads to these scores is approved by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) and ANSI (American National Standards Institute). The testing has also been recognized by the FTC as the only valid comparison of performance for room air purifiers. The testing involves filling a room with particles and testing how quickly an air purifier will clean the air in the room. There are three tests, using smoke, dust, and pollen because each has different properties. Smoke is considered the hardest to clean, and is, therefore, used to establish how large a room a tested unit will clean.
  3. How will I know that the air purifier is actually cleaning effectively? Will the air smell different?
Often you do not realize how well your air purifier is working until you change the filter and find how filthy it is. Even then, you cannot see the microscopic particles that the filter catches. Some signs that it is working include:
    • Less dust on the furniture
    • "Clean" smell to the air, especially when using units with an ionizer
    • Decreased allergens in your home
  4. Will air purifiers remove carbon monoxide or radon if present in a room or house?
The typical room air purifier can remove only particles, not gases. Only extremely expensive, industrial type systems can capture these gases effectively.
  5. Is a filter included with the air purifier when I initially purchase the unit and how long will a filter last?
All models are shipped with filters. The first filter will typically last from three to six months under continuous use, but it depends upon how "dirty" the environment is and how often the air purifier is used. For example, if your new Hunter unit is a replacement for another unit, then the room is probably cleaner than most. However, if you are putting it in a room that has never had an air purifier, then the first filter will need changing sooner.
  6. Can the filters be manually washed or recycled in any way or do I have to purchase entirely new filters?
Most air purifiers use disposable filters. Hunter units use a combination filter, which is designed to be easily replaced. The top-of-the-line Hunter models have pre-filters to catch the larger particles. This pre-filter can be washed with a hose and used again once it has had time to dry.
  7. How do I know when to replace my filter?
Hunter models come with either a "check filter light" or a "filter chart" to help you understand when to change the filter. The light comes on after 1,000 hours of use, which is the average time for needing to change the filter. The chart is color-coded to give you an indication of how "dirty" the filter is.
  8. Which replacement filter fits my Hunter air purifier?
Select a Replacement Filter that's right for your Hunter air purifier.
  9. Can I program my air purifier to come on/shut off at certain times?
Hunter has several models with an auto shutoff feature. This allows you to set the unit to run for one, two, four, or eight hours before shutting itself off.
  10. What is an ionizer and what is its function on the air purifier?
An ionizer attaches an electrical charge to the air that passes through the air purifier. This charge (typically a negative charge) then attracts positively charged particles that are floating in the air. This "weighs down" the particles so that they sink out of the air. These work best when used with other filtration methods that collect the majority of particles on a disposable filter.
  11. Do all air purifiers have ionizers included?
No. Many air purifiers rely only on a mechanical filter and miss the particles that are not drawn into the unit.

Clean Air Delivery Rate Certified Rating
AHAM Certified

From air cleaner to air cleaner, compare the CADR numbers. First, look at suggested room size. Then refer to the tobacco smoke, dust, and pollen Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) numbers. The higher the numbers, the faster the unit filters the air.

This air cleaner is suggested for use in a single closed room up to 156 square feet.

Room size ratings conform to the AHAM Certification Program criteria of 80% smoke reduction. Higher Clean Air Delivery Rates provide improved performance in all room sizes. Portable air cleaners will be much more effective in rooms where all doors and windows are closed.

Tobacco smoke: 101
Dust: 120
Pollen: 120
These values represent performance that can be expected within the first 72 hours of operation. Subsequent performance may vary with use.

Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the HEPAtech Air Purification System from Hunter Fan Company. You have purchased the latest development in portable Air Purification Systems. This system has been developed to improve the quality of the air you breathe.

Your HEPAtech Air Purification System outperforms other air purification systems by removing dust, smoke, and pollen particles as small as 0.1 microns in size. Room air is pulled in through the front grill and cleaned across the activated carbon pre-filter and the HEPAtech system filter. Clean air is then released out the top grill in order to avoid stirring up settled particles.

Using the Ionizer

Using the ionizer improves the quality of air in the room. Negative ions are released into the air, and positively charged particles cling to the negative ions. These particles settle out of the air and can be vacuumed up during normal cleaning. These particles are also more easily trapped in the HEPAtech system filter as they pass through the HEPAtech Air Purification System. To ensure the best air circulation in the room, Hunter Fan recommends that you place your air purifier six inches away from any walls.

Using Your Air Purifier

  1. Remove your air purifier from the box and take it out of the clean plastic protective bag.
  2. Place your HEPAtech Air Purification System on a hard, flat surface.
  3. Before turning the Air Purifier on, you need to open the front grill.
For Models 30057 and 30251: To release the front grill, place your fingers behind the tabs and pull forward.
For Models 30067 and 30124: To release the front grill, press the buttons on the side until the front grill slides easily over the buttons.
  4. The filter comes to you installed in the correct position. Grasp the filter, and pull it forward. Remove the plastic wrapping and replace the filter in the unit. The white filter material should be facing outward (towards you) and the wire mesh side should be hidden from view (inside the unit).
  5. Replace the front grill. Be sure that the bottom tabs are in location first, and then push the top of the grill forward until is it closed. The unit is now ready for normal operation. Note: This unit will not operate unless the door is placed in the correct position.
  6. Plug the unit into a 120V electrical outlet.

Operating Your Air Purifier

Ionizer: Press this button to turn on the ionizer. When the ionizer is on, the green light near the button will be illuminated.

On/Speed Control: Rotate the Speed Control knob to set the desired speed. A setting of zero indicates that the unit is off, one is low speed, two is medium speed, and three is high speed. The fan speed can be adjusted at any time.

Filter Change Calendar
The filter counter is designed to optimize the performance of the air purifier by reminding you when to change the HEPAtech Filter and pre-filter.

HEPAtech Filter Calendar: The HEPAtech Filter indicator is located at the top of the calendar ring. To set the HEPAtech Filter counter, rotate the calendar ring to align the month that you installed the filter with the top indicator. Since the filter is designed for six months usage, the two indicators will serve as reminders to change the filter every six months.

Pre-Filter Calendar: The inner knob of the filter counter is the pre-filter counter. To use, align the knob with the month that you installed the pre-filter. The replace symbol on the inner knob points to the month in which you should install a new pre-filter. The pre-filter is designed for three months of usage.
