Kaytee Exact Rainbow is a nutritious bird food developed by the nutritional experts at the Kaytee Avian Research Center to provide all the nutrients proven necessary for macaws, cockatoos, all parrots, eclectus, pionus and large conures.Exact Rainbow combines the highest-quality ingredients with added nutrients in a special pasteurizing process to produce an enticing rainbow of lifelike colors and shapes. Since there are no shells or hulls, there will be less mess in and around the cage and more time for you to enjoy your bird's company.
Feeding InstructionsAn average bird will consume the following amount in one day (using scoop provided):
Conure: three scoops
Amazon: five scoops
African Grey: five scoops
Cockatoo: six to eight scoops
Macaw: eight to 10 scoops.
Feed Exact Rainbow every day in a clean food cup. Adjust to the bird's actual needs and spillage. Exact Rainbow is designed to be the bird's sole diet. If you are providing additional foods, limit to 20% of the bird's total diet. No additional vitamin or mineral supplements should be added to the diet when used as directed.
Exact Original is an acceptable substitute for Exact Rainbow for additional variety of color and shape. Offer Kaytee sticks or canister treats, Kaytee Spray Millet, Kaytee Fiesta, or fresh fruits and vegetables to complement your pet's diet. Provide a clean, fresh supply of water daily.
Converting to Exact Rainbow
When changing to a new food or diet, some coaxing and a little time is required for the bird to adjust. For best results, limit the quantity of food available to the suggested daily feeding amount. Phase Exact Rainbow into the bird's diet by mixing it with the old diet. Use the enclosed scoop to mix food as follows. Feed the proper daily amount.
Day One to three: one part Exact to three parts current food
Day four to eight: two parts Exact to two parts current food
Day nine to fourteen: three parts Exact to one part current food
After 14 Days: feed Exact only - your bird should be completely converted.
Observe your bird closely to insure it is eating Exact and not searching for its old food. A change in the color of droppings (to a brownish color) should be evident with successful conversion. Important Notes
When more than one bird is kept in a cage, monitor birds very closely to assure both are adequately eating. Extending the conversion process an additional seven days is recommended. Initial acceptance of Exact can be improved by moistening with fruit juice. Be sure to remove uneaten portion within four hours to prevent spoilage.
Storage Instructions
For maximum freshness, store in a cool, dry location. Reseal between use. Refrigerate or freeze for extended use.
