While ferrets are most often characterized by their highly energetic nature and playful antics, they are also known to sleep anywhere between 15 -18 hours per day. Whether they are using a ferret hammock or a special ferret sleep sack, ferrets take frequent naps throughout the day and are typically most active and awake during dawn and dusk. As sleep is important to ferrets as well as with all animals, pet parents must provide their pet ferrets with a comfortable place to sleep, such as a ferret bed, cozy sleeper or hideout. Much like many other animals that are unable to perspire, ferrets need to be able to regulate their body heat while sleeping. This is why it’s suggested to provide your pet ferret with at least two types of napping places. While a ferret bed, fleece blanket or a special sleep sack can help to keep ferrets warm and cozy during colder temperatures, a ferret hammock or hanging sleeper can keep them cooler during warmer temperatures. To add a bit of a creative flare to your ferret’s cage or habitat, there is even a pet tent that can either be used as a free-standing sleeper or as a hanging hammock-style sleeper. Ensure your favorite ferret friend with comfortable and cozy nap time through a plush bed, suspended hammock or a restful and plush pet tent.
