The PETCO Foundation is proud to support groups that make a difference in the lives of companion animals and thus people as well. The Foundation frequently receives thank you notes from those groups who have benefitted from the Foundation's fundraising efforts. Following are some examples of recent words of thanks.
American Red Cross Lower Bucks County Thanks Foundation
Dear Mr. Jolly:
On behalf of the American Red Cross - Lower Bucks County Chapter, we would like to thank you and the PETCO Foundation for awarding our organization money to fund the purchase of a new pet CPR manikins to be used in conjunction with our formal Pet First Aid course.
Thanks to you generosity, we will be able to purchase six dog manikins; six cat manikins; twelve sets of disposable lungs/airways; and twelve packages of reusable snouts. This will allow us to continue providing area pet owners with the important training they need to save the lives of their pets in an emergency situation.
We intend to acknowledge your support during the training sessions, so that class attendees can be aware of PETCO's commitment to helping animals and their owners.
Once again, thank you.
Sincerely,
David L Zicherman

Three Cheers for Foundation from Raven's Hope Animal Sanctuary
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Your generous gift could not have arrived at a better time! Between medical needs of a couple of injured animals, bottle feeding 8 newborn puppies who have no mother, and in my "spare" time working the phones trying to raise funding to do necessary repairs on a 53-foot trailer we are getting to make it secure to use for feed and supply storage. It's all in a day's work in the effort to help our precious babies!
We will be setting aside part of the money for current and future medical needs and use part of it to make our trailer secure -- putting down particle board on the floor, building a roof over it, and repairing a corner with minor damage. We are fortunate enough to already have the slab the trailer will be sitting on. The porch will be enclosed to be used as a dog house and the guys will have under the trailer for shaded area when they want to go outside and use it. We utilize anything that has a cover and can have sides added to it for housing.
We still have two of our evacuees from Gulfport with us. The others, from Louisiana, have been reunited with their humans. We will have these two girls for at least a year as rebuilding will take a while.
The PETCO Foundation has got to be one of the most generous foundations around! You always seem to come through for us at a time when we really need help and encouragement to continue meeting the daily needs of these most precious of God's creatures; these darlings come to us in their time of need. I cannot thank you enough for your support of our program.
Sincerely,

Fauquier SPCA Thanks Foundation for State-of-the-Art Cat Condos
Dear Mr. Jolly:
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Fauquier SPCA, Inc. I wish to thank the PETCO Foundation for the generous grant you awarded us for our new Cat Room.
This grant helped us purchase state-of-the-art condos, which have been placed in our new adoption room. These condos will enable the public to view the cats from the front without touching them while staff can care for the cats through an accessible door in the rear of each unit. Each unit will have its own ventilation system, thus reducing the chance of cross-contamination between healthy cats and sick ones.
PETCO has always been extremely generous in its contributions to the Fauquier SPCA and we look forward to continuing this partnership in the future.
Sincerely,
Judith M. Hagerman

Suncoast Humane Society Hits the Road Thanks to Foundation
Dear Paul:
We were excited to receive the $30,000 donation from the PETCO Foundation and want to express our heartfelt gratitude. This gift will allow us to purchase a cargo van to help us carry out our work for the lost, homeless and abandoned animals we serve. You may not be aware, but, Suncoast Humane Society did not own a vehicle of any kind and had to either rent one or depend on the kindness of our volunteers to transport animals.
Hurricanes are an annual occurrence in this part of the country and our organization has been repeatedly called upon to either house displaced pets or to transport animals and much needed supplies. With the help of the PETCO Foundation we will now be able to respond more quickly to any call for assistance.
This new vehicle will also be used on a daily basis to transport adoptable animals to off-site adoption events, veterinarian visits, and many other useful purposes.
Again, we are grateful to the PETCO Foundation for making this possible. It is our intention to proudly place the name of the Foundation on this new vehicle and we will send you pictures as soon as possible.
Warm personal regards,
Warren Cox
